| | During Kristen and Travis' second year in college at UL at Lafayette, they met through a friend and hit it off. On December 12, 2011, they began dating. Travis and Kristen grew closer and enjoyed each other's company through UL football games, nights out with friends, philanthropy events, and sorority socials. On May 18, 2013 they both graduated with their Bachelor's degrees. Travis accepted a job with Halliburton and Kristen continued her education at UL in the master's program. During those two years, Travis and Kristen began planning their future and after Kristen's graduation, the two started looking at houses in Pineville. The two knew they would miss the culture, city they grew to love, and friends they have gotten close to; however, they had faith that God would lead them where they need to be. | | On Christmas Eve 2015, Travis led Kristen out to her parent's dock under a full moon. Once they arrived at the end of the steps, the dock lit up with lights strung throughout the railing and a romantic Christmas decorated table in the middle. Travis told Kristen that he wanted to exchange one gift early and handed her a present. After she opened her present of perfume, he pulled out a different present and as he opened it, he got on his knee and proposed. Shaking and teary eyed after she said yes, Travis told Kristen that the diamond in the middle was her grandmother's stone which made the ring even more special to her. After many hugs and smiles, Kristen's family joined them at the dock and congratulated and celebrated with the newly engaged couple. That is sure to be a night that both of them will always hold in their hearts. | | After buying a home in Pineville, the couple settled down in their jobs. Travis is working as a Substation design engineer at Beta Engineering in Pineville. Kristen works as a metal health counselor at Life Solutions of Alexandria and as a CLASS Observer throughout the state. Kristen and Travis have two fur babies, a cat and a dog, that always keep them entertained. The couple plans to remain living in the Deville/ Pineville area and raise their children here. |
